North Macedonia will bring the folk dance ensemble "Ilinden" to the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®️

North Macedonia will be represented by the Folk Dance Ensemble "Ilinden", which will come with its own orchestra, led by Borche Dimitrovski.

The group was founded in 1955 in Bitola - a recognized cultural center of the country with the aim of studying and reviving Macedonian folk traditions. Often "Ilinden" is touring around the world, being a regular participant in international folklore festivals.

The Ensemble will bring an interesting concert program to Bashkortostan. One of its presentations will be the famous authentic Macedonian male dance «Chifte Chamche»  (“Two boats”), whose homeland is the city of Bitola. The music of North Macedonia is characterized by complex rhythms inherited from the music of the neighboring Balkan countries, but in general, it still sounds different: the melody obeys the established dimensions and has a special energy and dynamism.

A group from North Macedonia will perform in the Northern Festival District. On July 5, the collective will go to the Mishkinsky region (16.00-20.00), on July 6 - to Karaidel (14.00-19.00), on July 7 - to Buraevsky (16.00-20.00), and on July 8 they will perform in the Askinsky region of the Republic (14.00-19.00).

The VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®️ will be held from 3 to 10 July 2021 in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The opening ceremony will take place in Ufa at the Ufa-Arena Ice Palace on July 3, 2021.
