The Republic of Costa Rica is a nature reserve. This country is known for its incredible diversity of nature, as well as its unusual geography – it is located on the isthmus connecting two continents, and its shores are washed by two oceans: the Atlantic and the Pacific. The main attractions of the country are numerous national parks, mountain and underwater caves, as well as waterfalls, picturesque mountain and river valleys, volcanoes, abundantly scattered throughout its territory.
This amazing country is a tropical reserve on the scale of the whole country. Protected natural areas occupy about 25% of the country's area. Here is the fifth largest mountain in Central America – Cerro Chirripo, as well as more than 100 volcanoes, whose slopes are covered with tropical vegetation of the famous «sky-high forests».
