20.06.2021
The Hungarian Folkdance Ensemble «Kecskemet» is preparing a special surprise for Bashkortostan. For several months now, they have been rehearsing the Bashkir song «Karabay». «Karabay» is a folk comic fast song (Bashkir - kyska koi), which was usually sung by young men to modest girls, inviting them to dance.
According to one version, the Hungarians have common historical roots with the Bashkirs, reflected in a certain way in phonetics and vocabulary. The performers of one of the most musical countries in the world quickly caught the energetic motive of the melody and learned the words with pleasure.
