Uzbekistan will bring an ensemble with a 65-year history to the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®️

The Karakalpak State Ensemble of National Folklore "Aikulash" will represent Uzbekistan at the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®️. It was founded in 1956 on the basis of the Berdakh State Philharmonic. For more than 50 years it has been headed by the People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Karakalpakstan, and Tatarstan Polat Madreimov. His folklore performances "Aikulash", "Angalak", "Shabandozlar", "Balykshilar", "Alty kyz" and others are familiar to the spectators all over the world.

The ensemble's repertoire includes more than a hundred bright compositions, including dances of the peoples of the world. The collective will introduce the spectators of the folklore festival to the Karakalpak music (Karakalpaks are Turkic people living in the Khiva oasis and the Fergana Valley). The many-sided culture of the Karakalpaks is reflected in the traditions of throat singing, the dances of these people are characterized by special plasticity and grace, unusual rhythm, and emotional intensity.

During the days of the folklore, the collective will go to the Northern Festival District with concerts. On July 5 he will perform in the Mishkinsky region, on July 6 - in Karaidel, on July 7 - in Buraevsky, on July 8 - in the Askinsky region of the republic.
