An interdepartmental exercise was held at the Ufa International Airport in preparation for the VI CIOFF®️ World Folkloriada

On June 21, the exercises of the Department of Rospotrebnadzor and the airport services were held at the Ufa International Airport.

Their goal was to work out the interaction between the state control authorities and the airport in case there is a patient with a suspected dangerous infectious disease on board the arriving ship. The participants were specialists of the sanitary-quarantine point, employees of the services providing ground maintenance of aircraft, aviation security, and medical services.

The exercises were conducted in real conditions: in a training aircraft on the airport flying field with the participation of a conditional patient. According to legend, an Indian citizen arrived from Moscow to Ufa, and during the flight, he complained of feeling bad to the flight attendants. After the plane landed, and the crew transmitted information about the passenger with symptoms of the disease, an employee of Rospotrebnadzor and employees of the medical unit arrived on board. They examined the passenger, identified the circle of persons who were in contact with him. Bio toilets, containers for used materials and bio-waste, and a car with industrial water were arranged at the aircraft parking lot.

Employees of the MCHS (Federal Emergency Service) and Rospotrebnadzor established the etiology of the disease. Medical workers of the Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the ambulance team of the Infective Hospital No. 4 delivered the patient to the observatory on the bus of the State Unitary Enterprise "Bashavtotrans". After the arrival of the crews, the removal and departure of the passengers, the aircraft, baggage, cargo, and mail were processed. Then the plane was handed over to the responsible representative of the airline.

The exercise tested in practice the alert system of the services, the actions of the specialists involved, and enabled to work out the algorithm for providing medical care to the patient, evacuating the patient, and disinfecting the aircraft. The results of the exercises demonstrated that all the involved services, organizations, and officials of state bodies work smoothly and have the necessary practical skills. Their coordinated actions made it possible to complete the tasks in the shortest possible time, which is extremely important in conditions where the life and health of passengers are at risk.
