First CIOFF World Children Folkloriada will be held in Bashkortostan in 2024!

The first CIOFF World Children's Folkloriada will be held in Ufa in 2024. This was announced by the Minister of Culture of the Republic Amina Shafikova at a weekly operational meeting held by the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.

This decision was made at the 50th General Assembly of the International Council of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art Organizations (CIOFF), which was attended by a delegation of the republic. The summit was held in Budapest from 7 to 9 November. CIOFF members discussed the results of the VI CIOFF World Folkloriada, which Bashkortostan hosted from July 3 to July 10, 2021. The folk art festival in Russia was held for the first time and gathered participants from 37 countries of the world. During the opening days of the Folklore Contest in Ufa, the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov and the president of CIOFF Philippe Beaussant took the initiative to hold a world children's folklore festival in Bashkortostan.

- It is tentatively planned that children under the age of 14 will take part in the Folklore Contest. The opening ceremony will take place on June 1, 2024, on the International Children's Day," said Amina Shafikova.

The head of the region thanked the staff of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic for working out the issue of holding a major international event of traditional culture in Ufa.
