The Republic of Paraguay is a country located right in the heart of South America. Paraguay is an amazing world filled with natural beauty and interesting architectural monuments. On the territory of this South American state, there are a large number of national parks and conservation areas with a rich diversity of inhabitants.

One of the main attractions of Paraguay is its capital, Asuncion, a political, economic and cultural center. This is the largest city in the country, which was built on the coast of an incredibly beautiful river, called the Rio Paraguay. Here you can see chic palaces adjacent to buildings made in the colonial style, old houses that attract attention with unusual facades, luxury shopping centers, churches, as well as museums.

In this country is one of the greatest man-made structures in South America-the Itaipu Dam. This is one of the largest sources of electricity not only in America, but throughout the world.

Paraguay has a rich culture that is a mixture of Native American and Spanish cultures. At the VI CIOFF® World Folkloriada this hot, sunny country will be represented by the Ibero-Americano Folk Ensemble. Its bright and multi-faceted performances are aimed at popularizing and preserving the unique Paraguayan culture, traditions, customs and folklore of its inhabitants.
