Slovakia is a European country that has long been part of other states. Nevertheless, it has preserved its customs and traditions, and its culture is utterly distinctive.
The culture of Slovakia is seen in its unique architecture, musical art and literature. The roots of oral folk art go far into the past. The picturesque nature of Slovakia is very inspiring for creating masterpieces. The country takes care of its culture which is evident in many areas of life.
Among the crafts in the country wood carving, weaving, painting and glass-blowing are well and long ago mastered. The best examples of Slovak architecture are wooden churches and brightly painted houses.
The traditions and culture of Slovakia at the VI CIOFF® World Folkloriada is represented by the «Nadsenchi» Folk Ensemble.
