Askinskaya Ice Cave

This unique cave is proclaimed a monument of federal importance.

 

According to the structure, it is a huge hall, stretching for 104 meters. The width of the cave is 61 meters, and its arches reach a maximum height of 24 meters. In the ice hall itself, stalagmites grow, and the entrance to the cave is covered with ice, the thickness of which reaches more than 20 meters.

 

The unique natural monument has a year-round temperature of 0 Celsius degrees. The entrance to the cave is located at an altitude of 70 meters, and the Malaya Askyn River flows below.
