VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®
Almost 1500 artists from about 50 countries of the world will take part in the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®, which will be held for the first time in the Russian Federation! In 2021, the Republic of Bashkortostan will become the center of world folklore. Previously, the Folkloriada CIOFF® took place in Holland, Japan, Hungary, South Korea, and Mexico. The World Folkloriada is organized by the International Council for the Organization of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF), UNESCO's partner in the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage.
The opening ceremony of the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF® will take place on July 3, 2021, in Ufa. The next day, July 4, 2021, the opening of the Main Stage of the International Festival - "Heart of Folkloriada" is scheduled. Every day the concerts will begin with the performance of the folklore participants and will end with the performance of the world-renowned groups. Among them are People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Babkina together with the Russian Song ensemble, singer Manizha, a Serbian filmmaker, actor and musician Emir Kusturica, and others.
On the same day, July 4, 2021, a large-scale parade of festival participants will take place along the main street of the capital to the site of the Toratau Congress Hall Amphitheater, which will end with the largest round dance with the participation of representatives of more than 200 nationalities. It is important to note that the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF® plans to leave a mark on world history: the round dance is planned to be entered in the World Records Book for the number of nationalities.
Also, the festive program of the event is provided in 22 municipalities of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Some of the teams from the participating countries will disperse to the festival districts on July 5, 2021. The closing ceremony of the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF® will take place on July 10, 2021, in the capital of the Republic on the main stage of the Festival. The transfer of the Folkloriada's flag to the next host country is planned here.
The capital of Bashkortostan has long been recognized as a congress platform for holding various events of the highest level. In particular, the city hosted the participants of the SCO and BRICS summits, the Winter and Summer International Children's Games, the Forum of the Best Municipal Practices of the Union of Russian Cities, the Heart of Eurasia International Arts Festival, the World Ice Hockey Championship among youth teams, the European Motorcycle Ice Racing Championship, International urban planning Forum UrbanBayram, International Urban Forum, International Business Week, Forum of small and medium-sized businesses in the regions of the SCO and BRICS countries. After major events, Ufa has become even more recognizable among world-class cities.
