As part of the closing ceremony of the World Folkloriada, Philippe Beaussant, President of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts CIOFF®️, put a capsule with a message to descendants in the World Tree. The time capsule with a message to future generations is filled with symbols – coins, jewelry, artifacts, musical instruments, scraps of fabrics of traditional costumes, etc. The filling ceremony of the capsule took place earlier this day. The capsule will be transferred to the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan. It will be opened in 10 years. Another capsule, installed this morning, will be handed over to the participants of the next Folkloriada.
"The completion of the Folkloriada showed us that the power of culture is limitless, and humanity will always triumph. All delegations and groups have made enormous efforts to make this dream come true here in Ufa. Not only you deserve admiration and gratitude, but also all of humanity, because we managed to overcome this terrible pandemic. And we have demonstrated to Bashkortostan that the hope for a beautiful world is not just a utopia. And this event will be immortalized as the first cultural event, despite the fact that the pandemic is still raging around the world," said Philippe Beaussant.
Within the framework of the event, a ceremony of presenting government awards was held. On behalf of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Amina Shafikova presented the Order of Peoples' Friendship to the President of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts CIOFF ®️ to Philippe Beaussant, Director of the V.D. Polenov’s State Russian House of Folk Arts Tamara Purtova. The Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Bashkortostan was awarded to Deputy Director of the V.D. Polenov’s State Russian House of Folk Arts, Executive Secretary of the National section of CIOFF®️ Russia, Folkloriada Committee member Andrey Belyaev
Then the ceremony of passing the baton of the Folkloriada took place. The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Amina Shafikova, presented it to Philippe Beaussant.
"Today we are all a little sad. The program of the Folkloriada is coming to an end. We hope that you were able to fully appreciate and feel the hospitality of the multinational people of Bashkortostan, " she said, addressing the audience.
